About this Death Cafe

Celia Spiers and I offer this Death Cafe to provide a warm, safe, confidential place to talk about death and dying.  We are delighted to be with you in person and to enjoy tea and cakes too!

There has been so much loss in the last three and a half years - loss of loved ones as a direct result of covid, loss of our pre-covid lives, including a loss of freedom and loss of autonomy, as well as bereavements that weren't covid-related and have been unable to be marked and supported in the pre-covid ways, alongside pre-covid losses and sorrows that have been unattended due to covid-isolation. For those of us living close to areas affected by the introduction of HS2 we have lost ancient woodland, and some vital and beautiful places to walk.

This Death Cafe is held in our usual room in Leamington Spa, sensing one another face to face, sharing delicious home-made cakes and tea, and resonating with one another physically. So, bring your bodies, hearts and souls and join us for this special event.

About Celia Spiers and Debbie Collins

Debbie Collins has worked as a therapist for over thirty years and trained in bereavement awareness early in her career after navigating early losses.

Celia Spiers’ life struggles with difficult, challenging times have meant facing death and its place in her living. Even people close to her found it almost impossible to talk about this and she was delighted to discover her first Death Cafe. A safe, gentle, comfortable space. It is a pleasure to share this with others - a place to listen, learn and eat cake!
