About this Death Cafe
Death Cafe Albany welcomes you to join us for stimulating, informative and free-ranging discussion about death, dying, and bereavement.
We gather at 2pm on the last Friday of each month, at our new venue - Albany Public Library, on York Street.
Tea/instant coffee will be available for a small donation, and you are welcome to bring a takeaway coffee if you prefer. You can take the stairs or the lift to the first floor, find a seat at a table in the meeting room, and participate in an afternoon of discussion of anything and everything death-related. All welcome. No agenda or guest speakers, just congenial conversations - but please be aware that this is a forum for sharing ideas, experience, and information, not a grief support group.
We have a Facebook page (Death Cafe Albany WA) where we post any updates to meeting arrangements.
We politely request that you miss this gathering if you are feeling unwell or have had close contact with someone who has Covid.
About Irene Montefiore/Kate Thomas
Irene and Kate are long-term facilitators of the group, with back up from John. As our gatherings have expanded, we have decided to relocate to the larger space at the library, where we can readily separate into smaller groups to make discussions easier and more intimate. To assist with that, Helen and Kali have now joined the team - both are Civil Celebrants and experienced facilitators and we are happy to welcome them.
