About this Death Cafe

Join Debbie, Jon and Mini to talk openly about death and dying in a safe and confidential space.

Free drinks will be available. You don’t need to have any connection with Addison Road Medical Practice to attend – they just want to make their space available for these conversations.

People quite often ask why people attend a Good Death, Good Grief Cafe. From our experience of delivering Death Cafes we have found that people attend for all sorts of reasons. It might be that a bereavement or illness makes death and grief more present and they feel a need to talk or explore it further. Some want to find out how to broach the subject of death and dying with someone close to them. Or it might be a fear of death or dying that prompts someone to attend. For others, it is just a desire to be more open or a curiosity about the subject.

Do come and join us. You can book your place on eventbrite using the link on the right hand side.

Your Death Cafe hosts are Debbie, Jon and Mini.

Debbie Young has been working in the field of death, dying and end of life care planning since 2011 and is an experienced Death Cafe host and facilitator.  Debbie also provides training, facilitated workshops and consultancy.

Jon started attending Death Cafes in early 2020 as he had a need to gain a deeper understanding and acceptance of death. He is now a table host, and finds it a privilege to speak and listen to a wide range of people with differing experiences, feelings and approaches towards death. He particularly enjoys that every meeting throws up new and invigorating conversations along with keen insight and, perhaps surprisingly, great humour.

Thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund for funding this Death Cafe.
