About this Death Cafe

We’ll put the kettle on and settle in for a lively conversation about death!

Co-hosts Jenny Wilde and Jaina Bee invite you to join us for an in-person Death Cafe (our first one!), open to all folx who are curious and/or delighted to converse about the one thing we all have in common: that we will die.

Cake and/or cookies will be provided, but please feel free to bring snacks to share (labeled for common allergens, please).

A Death Café is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes, and does not promote any particular beliefs. It is an open, respectful and confidential space where people can express their views safely, rather than a grief support or counseling session. And it is always free!

Death Café was founded by Jon Underwood, based on the work of Bernard Crettaz. Lizzy Miles was the first person to offer Death Café in the US. You can find more information at www.deathcafe.com.

Registration is accepted up until one hour before the event.

The Raven's Wing endeavors to create and maintain a safe environment in which all attendees can feel well met. As such we do not tolerate racist, sexist, ageist, ableist, transphobic or homophobic speech or actions in our spaces. When shopping with us or attending one of our events, you agree to monitor your speech and behavior to uphold this atmosphere of mutual respect. Anyone found violating this agreement will be asked to leave.

Any other questions we didn't address? Feel free to drop us a line at info@theravenswing.com

About Jenny Wilde and Baba Jaina Bee

Jenny Wilde (she/her) is an artist and herbalist, a witch and diviner, and a dreamer with her feet on the ground and her head firmly among the stars. Currently based in Portland, Jenny has lived all up and down the West Coast and had many peculiar (and often beautiful) experiences. She is in a long-term relationship with death and loves to talk about it.

What a long strange trip it [eternal recurrence].

Baba Jaina Bee (pronouns e/em) is an eclectic, polytheistic pagan and a High Priestx emeritus with the Starflower Pagan Congregation. E is a devotee of Paneros; the Metagender deity of the Tetrad++ pantheon. Baba Bee is a co-founder of the Divine Spiraling Rainbow Tribe and the Rainbow Moon Circle; Starflower's non-binary tradition and spiritual services honoring divine mxgender mysteries. E buzzes between the Salish Sea and the SF Bay Area, and would enjoy meeting everyone's familiars.
