About JENNIFER BROWN:

My passion is to encourage people to talk about death. We are born with love and celebration. We need to learn to die whenever possible with those same conditions available to us and others.

I am a Death Doula in private practice in Southern Oregon. I have expierenced a great deal of grief and loss. I have survived and thrived.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

I wish to start Death Cafes in my community. They are needed. I will love facilitating them.

What would you like your legacy to be?

I would like my legacy to be that I was a part of a group of people who led the world to look at death in a more positive light. To prepare, to love, and to live like you would be as satisfied as you could be if you died the next day.

I would like the things I have written and read to be passed on to generations that follow me with respect.

Thoughts for sharing:

Look and listen is something I practice and have learned in many places especially from Eckhart Tolle's teachings.

I like the question what will you think about on the da before you die?

It is okay to cry when someone you care about has died. I like this because I did not for a short time

The cafe went well. The turn out was small but the conversations went deep for 1 1/2 hours. The space in the library was very nice and it was private so we were able to talk in depth where we might not have been able to as much in a more open venue like a juice bar or restaraunt. I am glad I chose it. The participants want to do this monthly and hopefully a regular schedule will bring more peopel in to the group.

We even discussed joining the movement to bring a "Composting " option to Southern Oregon.
