Update on Trademark fundraising

Hi Death Cafe community,

I’m reaching out with some incredible news about our trademark renewal. Your astonishing support has helped us surpass our £4,500 target, reaching £5,410. This is a powerful testament to the strength and unity of the Death Cafe movement.

This campaign has been about more than just fundraising; it’s been a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to Death Cafe’s mission - creating safe spaces to talk about death and dying over tea and cake. With the extra funds, we have a safety net against unexpected expenses and currency fluctuations. I've paused the GoFundMe campaign for now, but we'll reopen it if additional funds are needed to complete the trademark process.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated. Your contributions symbolise more than financial support; they represent the solidarity of our community. To those who spread the word, your efforts have been equally vital in reaching this milestone. You can see more details here: www.gofundme.com/death-cafe-trademark

In keeping with our commitment to transparency, we'll update you on how any remaining funds are used, supporting activities that uphold the essence of Death Cafe and help expand our reach.

Navigating this path without Jon has been challenging. Interestingly, I’ve been using Jon’s original documentation from 2013 to guide me through the trademark renewal. It's been a shared challenge, learning the relevant legalese, but there’s a strange comfort in knowing Jon and I have both poured over these complexities. There are moments I feel clumsy trying to do what he did so eloquently, and I know Jon would have been incredibly grateful for your support, just as I am.

For those enquiring about ongoing support, our Patreon page offers various tiers of engagement, from exclusive content previews to more personalised interactions. Check it out here: www.patreon.com/deathcafe We're also excited about the potential of introducing Death Cafe merchandise, so stay tuned for updates!

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your incredible support during this renewal process. The unity and generosity you’ve shown are truly moving. Your belief in Death Cafe is what makes this journey worthwhile.
