About Creating Conversations CIC:
Creating Conversations CIC is Community Interest Company that creates spaces for conversations about death, dying and grief.
Debbie Young has been working in the field of death, dying and grief since 2011 and is an experienced Death Cafe host and workshop facilitator.
Alberta Gutteridge has worked in tghe charity sector supporting vulnerable people for over fifteen years and is a funeral celebrant.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
A desire to create spaces for open conversations about death, dying and grief and to contribute to a society that supports grief and acknowledges loss.
What would you like your legacy to be?
To be part of the Death Cafe community that removes the taboo from talking about death and dying.

Saturday 25 September saw the first (we hope) of the North-East London ‘in person’ Death Cafes at the lovely East of Eden café in Walthamstow. Big thanks to Abby and her team for offering us use of the venue. As one of the attendees fedback: ‘East of Eden feels like the perfect venue, calm and reflective… ‘
The online Death Cafes are an amazing experience, but as everyone expressed there is something so different about being in the same space and being ‘in person’. The connection is more immediate and well, more three dimensional!
As always, the conversations were wide-ranging covering a whole host of thoughts, feelings and topics ...

There are things that you plan weeks, or even months, in advance with a great burst of enthusiasm and energy. And then the date comes around and a great number of things have happened in between; unexpected challenges, good things too, and you wonder if you have planned your calendar badly as you aren’t sure you have enough energy for this particular event. Perhaps that’s just me, but it was the case with the virtual Death Café, Debbie & I hosted on Tuesday 10 August 2021. Number two of the North East London series.
