About Wendy Bellars:
I have been attending the St Andrews, Fife, UK Death Cafe for over three years. For the past year I have been a co-host. Now the Death Cafe in St Andrews is moving to be more community-based and I am pleased to be able to anchor it as it moves into its next phase. (Summer 2023)
What brings you to Death Cafe?
Death is a subject that too many of us shy away from. Talking about it, and about grief and fear and suffering, and sharing experiences, can help us when we encounter it for ourselves - either the prospect of our own death, or experiencing the death of someone close to us.
There are no right or wrong things to say, or ask, at Death Cafe. All comments, questions, responses, are welcome - as is sitting in silence and just listening.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I'd like as many people as possible to realise that they can help others just by listening to them.
