About this Death Cafe

Welcome to Death Cafe Sale Trafford.  I believe we need to start talking more openly about death and dying and Death Cafe events gives people a safe and friendly space to share their experiences, thoughts and feelings about death and dying while we drink tea/coffee and eat lots of cake.

The group will meet once a month on a Thursday evening at 6pm - 7.30pm. You can attend as many or as few dates as you prefer. If you are unable to attend on the 16th November then the next date is Thursday, 14th December, 6pm - 7.30pm.

What to expect

There is no right or wrong way to talk about death and everyone's perspective is welcome. I am hoping you will find these conversations meaningful and helpful.

There is no charge for attending this group and there will be free tea, coffee and lots of cakes. If you would like to bring a cake/s then please by all means do <img class="xz74otr" style="border: 0px; object-fit: fill;" src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/ta5/1.5/16/1f642.png" alt="

About Lynda Royle

My name is Lynda Royle and I will be running Death Cafe Sale Trafford. I have a thirty year background in health and social care related roles including practical, management and education. I am passionate about making a difference in people’s lives. Part of this journey has led me to become an Independent Funeral Celebrant. During my Funeral Celebrant training I learnt about the ‘Death Café’ organisation and concept. I was amazed at just how many Death Cafe events have taken place (16824), in so many countries (over 85)!

I was surprised too that such a thing existed because talking about death is still such a taboo subject in many cultures. Yet we all know we experience the death of others and that we are going to die.
