About this Death Cafe
The East Kent Death Cafe Pop-Up hosts friendly and informal discussions on topics that are a natural part of the lifecycle - death, dying, bereavement and grief, some of our biggest conversational taboos. It provides opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds, religions, cultures or beliefs to meet together in a non-judgemental environment, taking the opportunity to share, learn and chat in a safe, friendly and relaxed space.
They adhere to the principles of the Death Cafe model:
· Not for profit
· Accessible, respectful and confidential space
· No intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
· Conversation, refreshing drinks and delicious cake!
About Susan Clinch, Deborah Nash & Rebekah Lamplough
Deborah, Susan and Rebekah have all attended death cafes within the UK and are excited to be able to bring this excellent idea to the East Kent coast. They have a combined experience of childhood bereavement, end-of-life care and different attitudes towards death and dying from around the world. They love a good chat and are looking forward to hosting pop-up cafes at various coastal locations from Dover to New Romney.
