About this Death Cafe
We want our Death Cafe meetings to help create an awareness of death and appreciation of life more. We meet in a safe, friendly atmosphere, with beverages and cake. And encourage people to freely talk about their experiences with the death of others. As well as their thoughts about their own death. A discussion group with just one topic: death, which makes for a fantastic conversation!
You can contact Teddy at: email@example.com or (352) 368-9927 If you plan to attend, please let me know, as parking and space is limited. Thanks!
As a young child I lost my mother and this has always made me very aware of death and the possibility of losing the people you love. In 1985 I wrote my thesis on Death and Dying for my BA in Social Work. I lost my husband fairly young too. He was in Hospice care and able to die a very peaceful death at home, with the wonderful care of Hospice of Marion county. I volunteered with Hospice for four years. And am a member of ADEC (Association for Death Education and Counseling - The Thanatology Association)
