About this Death Cafe
I first found out about Death Cafe through friends at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in Gainesville. I have lead a couple of Tampa FreeSkool classes on Green Burial and DIY Funerals and it was refreshing to be able to talk so openly about death. Death Cafe will provide that same openess, but will incorporate more discussion among its attendees.
About Jessica Dillon
My name is Jessica Dillon and I am working together with Sacred Grounds to hold Tampa's first Death Cafe. I am a Tampa native and USF graduate. I also have an Associates in Science in Funeral Services from St. Pete College and hold a license as a FL Funeral Director and Embalmer. Although I do not currently practice the profession, I still have interest in deathcare and am curious about how others view this often taboo subject.
