About this Death Cafe
Death is a taboo topic and should be talked about in public but this does not happen simply because our specific culture has designed it this way and we have allowed people who have no connection to our loved one have to much control when we need familiar support the most. Death is an industry and whether we agree with the business models or not it is never examined by almost everyone who utilizes it's services.

I have been in social work for 23 years and am currently continuing my education in the hospice palliative sector of social work. I am a strong advocate for empowering individuals and one of the ways to empower a person is to examine all areas of their life including their death.
